Gone unnoticed

A farmer met a fair pretty lady, they fall in love when they saw each other. So the lady (always dreamed being swept off by a knight on a white horse) married the farmer despite her family disagreement. They lived happily in the farmer’s house at a countryside with two children and a cat. Suddenly the lady (now looked a lot like a peasant’s wife) felt the need to be showered with gold bracelet, diamond rings and luxurious dresses, even though she knew a farmer can do very little to fulfill her desire. The farmer doubled up working in the farm to buy her a new dress. The lady longed to be a rich merchant’s daughter again, so in the middle of the night she packed her belongings excluding the new dress her husband bought, leaving a note folded to the neckline of the new dress: “i am sorry, i cannot be a farmer’s wife, do not find me, i wish i can say i love you but that will be a lie because i do not love you anymore, goodbye my gentle husband”. She left her kids behind and fading into the darkness of nearby forest and no one dared to talk about her. Many years later, the now-adults-children found the grieving old farmer died on the rocking chair; holding the badly creased letter which no longer can be read.
